Piglet and Daffy are Earth’s only hope in the face of the threat of an alien invasion. The first Looney Tunes film released in theaters not distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film was originally planned to be a streaming-exclusive release on the Max streaming service. After the company released it, the film was sent to other distributors, and GFM Animation eventually acquired the worldwide distribution rights and moved the film to a theatrical release. When Daffy demonstrates his talent for working with levers, inside the meteor he pulls a lever to lower the machine and pushes it to raise it again. Porky also does this later in the scene. However, when Porky and Petunia are buckled in, Daffy pushes the lever forward, and the machine still lowers them. At the end of the end credits, Porky makes his classic announcement, “That’s it, folks!” only to be interrupted by Daffy, who tells him that this is not the end of the movie and that they need a sequel. I really enjoyed the movie. The story is a bit, well, crazy, but what else can you expect from Looney Tunes other than Daffy Duck and Porky Pig working as a movie. However, I have to say that the action was way too over the top. Of course, we’re talking about Looney Tunes here, specifically Daffy Duck, but still. So I missed the joke a bit. There were some funny moments, no doubt, but that appropriate wit and humor that defines Looney Tunes was either absent or rare. But other than that, I can recommend the movie as a hand-drawn animated film today. This review comes from Germany, where the film has already been released.
